gemmik: 『~トゥ「M」マダー~』 ["~To 'M' Murder~"] | Japanese & English Lyrics

Japanese

Mother
Mother

English
"~To 'M' Murder~"

Cradled in mama's love are children who turn over in their sleep
Swung by the cradle ~swinging~ what kinds of dreams do they have?
I notice the things suppressed by me
Hopes and dreams...
Since mama's brooding face is so dark it's scary...

Held tightly and taken, the place she had her eye on is the top of a building
The end is reflected in the scenery I look down own from there
Mama's quivering voice
Whispers into my ear
"I'm sorry"
She climbed the fence*, leaned out, and let go of me...
Fleeting life was crushed on the asphalt...

Love me... Hey... Mother
The last voice is her first kindness**
Don't hate me
I only wanted to feel the reality of being loved
Love me... Hey... Mother
Why did you have me
And why do you throw me away?
I wanted to be held in mama's arms if only once
And just sleep

Falling is slow-motion
In my fading consciousness I close my eyes and wait for it to end
I don't have many memories but
Clearly, like a film
Is the smile mama occasionally showed

* Many flat-roofed Japanese buildings have a fence around the perimeter to prevent accidental or intentional falls. The imagery I get from this is that that's the kind of fence being mentioned.

** It's hard to keep this brief in English, but the line is conveying that the "I'm sorry" she whispered to him was the first kindness she ever gave him.

*** This song is extremely morbid; it's about a mother throwing her baby off a rooftop because he's burdening her own life. Sobering, but mothers killing their own children for reasons like these is shockingly common in Japan.
